Llangewydd Junior School

Covid 19 (Coronavirus)

On Friday March 13th 2020, schools in Wales closed for an indefinite period, to support the nationwide effort to reduce the spread of Covid 19. Since that time, all of our staff have been working extremely hard supporting the needs of our pupils, and in some cases the pupils of other schools. Mrs Evans and Mrs Porter have contacted many of our families on a regular basis. All teachers have been setting and marking work through 'Google Classroom' daily;  Mr Evans has been monitoring engagement levels and offering support to staff on a weekly basis. Many staff have supported the Emergency Childcare provision for the children of critical workers and for vulnerable pupils at the local hub school.

The closure period is ending. Pupils will be returning to Llangewydd. We all need to work together to ensure pupils transition back to school safely and to meet the wellbeing needs of our whole school community. Along with the local authority, we will be providing advice and guidance for you over the coming weeks. All we ask is that you understand that this is a challenging time for us all and that we will do all we reasonably can to prepare for this eventuality.
